Nissan LEAF Availablity Expands For 2012 Model Year

The wait is over for Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Washington D.C. eco-conscious car buyers! The 2012 Nissan LEAF is now available in your home states! Nissan meant it when they said the wait is over! On August fourth you can pre-order you new 2012 Nissan LEAF! For those living in the existing markets, don't fret! The 2012 Nissan LEAF will continue to be sold in those markets!

Not only is Nissan expanding availability, but they have also made several improvements to the LEAF you truly will love! Nissan has listened to their consumers and have added standard quick-charging for the 2012-model year.  Nissan is also making the DC Fast Charge capability standard on the SL trim. According to Nissan, the SL represents 95 percent of all 2011 LEAF sales; and over 90 percent of those buyers have added the DC Fast Charger. Nissan also added several cold-weather features, including a battery warmer, heated steering wheel, and heated from and rear seats.

Obviously, these improvements come at a price! Specifically, the base Nissan LEAF SV (including destination charge), will start at approximately thirty-six-grand for the 2012 model year, compared to the 2011 starting price of a little over thirty-three grand. Nissan has also downsized the 2012 LEAF lineup, eliminating the SL-e trim.
