Nissan Makes Donation and Does the Right Thing


You might have heard or read that Nissan recently made a donation of $115,000 in relief aid to the American Red Cross to help them provide food, clothing, and shelter for storm victims in the southeastern U.S. Pretty generous, right? Well, Nissan didn't think it was enough.

Now, the Japanese automaker is offering their exclusive employee pricing to consumers in Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Kentucky who have lost, or sustained damage to, their vehicle due to the devastating storms, floods, and tornadoes that have riddled the region. The all electric Nissan Leaf is not only the most anticipated car in North America, but the world.

The EV was recently awarded automotive's most coveted award - 2011 World Car of the Year. This honor not only marks a great achievement by Nissan, but also promotes electric vehicles to the top of the global market.

Jurors from Asia, Europe and North America commented that, "The Leaf is the gateway to a brave new electric world from Nissan." Highlighting the car's low carbon properties, judges added it "feels just like a normal car, only quieter".
