Nissan Plans To Bring 51 New Vehicles To Market

Within the last two years Nissan has created two incredible new models: Nissan Leaf EV and Nissan Juke. Now that the Japanese automaker is on a roll, they have announced their plan to bring many more vehicles just as fantastic to the market within the next few years.

Over the next six years, Nissan plans to introduce fifty one new models! The plan to bring 51 new models to the market will help the Japanese automaker reach their lofty goal of becoming 15% of the market share in Japan, and a global share of 10%. To put it into perspective, if Nissan attains their goal, 1 out of every 10 vehicles on the road will be a Nissan.

The Japanese automaker is on their way to achieving an 8% share in both the global market and operating profit margin by 2016. Nissan rose from 5.8% and 6.1% in the year ended March 31, 2011. It's pretty evident that the automaker is on the right path.

Hiroto Saikawa, Executive VP, said that Nissan "aims at domestic sales of 600,000 cars and exports of between 400,000 and 600,000. Nissan will introduce 51 models over the next six years as it aims to capture 10 percent of global luxury-car sales. The models will meet demand for eco-friendly and compact cars, with half targeted at the Japanese market." 1
