EPA Honors Nissan with Sustainability Award

It's one thing to adopt a few earth-friendly practices. It's another thing completely to sustain an eco-safe style of operating. Bay Ridge Nissan is proud to say that Nissan has not only perfected the latter of the two but has even procured an award for it.

Honoring the automaker's leadership in preserving our environment, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has given Nissan the 2012 ENERGY STAR Sustained Excellence Award. In short, the EPA recognizes companies which reach the bar for green standards and then proceed to climb even higher. Specifically, the environmental gurus acknowledged Nissan for its commitment to smart energy management, efforts to communicate the importance of energy efficiency to a large audience and ability to measure and track progress.

For Nissan, going green doesn't mean simply tacking on green practices in addition to creating new Nissan vehicles, it means integrating those sustainable habits with daily automotive operations. Bill Krueger, Vice Chairman of Nissan Americas, says, "These efforts align with our global strategies of zero-emission leadership and corporate social responsibility to employees, stakeholders and customers."1

Whether you're a tree-hugging eco-lover or simply interested in adopting a few new green practices of your own, Bay Ridge Nissan invites you to stop by 6501 5th Ave Brooklyn, NY 11220 for more information regarding Nissan sustainability.
