Only Four Years to Reach One-Millionth Qashqai


Bay Ridge Nissan is pleased to announce that the one millionth-model Qashqai, pronounced Kash-key, rolled off the production line recently.  Although not a U.S. car this is a major milestone for Nissan and we couldn't help but announce it.

Similar in size to the hot-selling U.S. crossover, the Nissan Rogue, the Qashqai is offered in a range of four-cylinder engines. Depending on need and preference, drivers can choose from a front-wheel drive model operated by CVT or a more rugged all-wheel drive model operated by a manual transmission.

U.S. Nissan LEAF Production Suspended


The March 11 Earthquake in Japan has caused Nissan to delay U.S. production plans for the LEAF.  The original schedule Nissan had the production lines starting in December 2012. Manufacturing of the lithium-ion battery fitted in the Nissan LEAF were to start even earlier, in September 2012.

At first the extent of the damage was unknown but it seems now that Nissan was hit harder than expected.  Just as demand for its award winning vehicles has begun to increase we might be faced with a shortage.

News About the 2012 Nissan GT-R Spec R


The Nissan GT-R will receive some pretty powerful enhancements for customers in the land down under. The upcoming Spec R will have a more powerful suspension, combined with even more horsepower. The question remains, will we ever see this model at Bay Ridge Nissan, 6501 5th Ave. in Brooklyn, New York?
